A 39 year old loving husband and father, family is everything to Dev and is the inspiration behind Dev Design. An avid golfer, mad keen Sydney Swans supporter, lover of coffee and a beer (not at the same time), Dev also enjoys landscaping, interior design, building and DIYing... and considers himself a pretty reasonable bloke!

Dev completed an Associate Diploma of Graphic Design at TAFE, after moving to Launceston from his home town of Penguin, and entered the industry through work experience at The Examiner Newspaper, and it was here his career was born.
The newspaper was a great place to learn the importance of planning, deadlines and teamwork as deadlines were daily, and non-flexible.
Beginning in the layout/visual section of the studio area, he developed a strong understanding of the fundamentals of good design through advertising. These fundamentals continue to provide the basis of his design expertise today.
Dev held a number of positions at The Examiner as his position and skills evolved.
Working as a Promotions Assistant gave an insight into the promotional world of competitions, sponsorship, contra, radio and television promotion and the strength of working relationships within the industry. A brief stint as an Advertising Account Manager in the motor vehicle industry allowed Dev to strengthen his 'people skills' working daily with regular advertisers to determine the best marketing plan for their advertising.
Moving into the Pre Press section of the paper as a designer/typesetter, Dev was responsible for executing finished art ready for the next day's newspaper, special publications and features.
He was soon promoted to Production Manager, and with a staff of 20, was responsible for the day to day running of the pre press department... ensuring deadlines were met on a daily basis through workflow and project management, staff rostering and cross department management meetings.
After almost 10 years at The Examiner, Dev was approached by a local advertising agency, to come on board as their Creative Director.
Throughout his eight and a half years there, he was responsible for the management of studio staff and workflow, project management of press advertising, print, web and strategic design.
